The AL-KO Vehicle Technology Electronics solution allows for simpler management
of heating, cooling, energy and onboard services through a single interface.

Thanks to a single, intuitive and easy-to-use interface, it is now possible to manage both the vehicle’s digital control panel and the ONDA Connectivity mobile app, for practical use both on board and remotely. The system provides comprehensive information on numerous vehicle functions and allows for simple, immediate control of the main onboard services:
  • Lighting control
  • Interior temperature management
  • Battery charge status
  • Monitoring of charging via solar panels
  • Vehicle levelling check
  • Monitoring of drinking water level
  • Precise vehicle location via GPS

Compatibility with third-party products
One of the main advantages of the ONDA Connectivity platform is the ability to integrate new products from AL-KO Vehicle Technology Electronics and from other companies.
This offers customers greater freedom of choice, both when initially configuring the vehicle and when installing new accessories at a later stage.

The ICL-12 gateway acts as a communication bridge between the ONDA Connectivity platform and compatible products, supporting protocols such as LIN-BUS, CI-BUS and CAN-BUS.
The entire range of functions of a device can thus be controlled with the simple press of a button through the ONDA Connectivity interface, either from the vehicle’s control panel or via the mobile app.

An ever-expanding ecosystem thanks to CI-BUS
The integration of the CI-BUS protocol has enabled AL-KO Vehicle Technology Electronics to rapidly expand the ecosystem of compatible devices.

Thanks to CI-BUS, the most popular brands of heating and air conditioning systems, refrigerators, batteries and inverters can be easily integrated into the ONDA Connectivity supervision system. AL-KO Vehicle Technology Electronics continues to expand the list of integrable products on the basis of validated compatibility tests and approvals from the respective manufacturers.

The ONDA Connectivity system currently integrates the following brands:
  • Heating and air conditioning: Truma, Alde, Webasto, Dometic
  • Batteries: Mastervolt, Super B, Varta, Dometic, Hella, ten Haaft, TELECO
  • Refrigerators: Dometic, Indel B
  • Inverters: ten Haaft
  • Lighting & dimming: Toptron
  • Gas sensors: E-Trailer

CI-BUS is an industry standard developed in 2011 for the motorhome and caravan sector. It was created by CIVD, the German association of manufacturers and suppliers of recreational vehicles (Caravaning Industrie Verband e.V.). Over 60 manufacturers and component suppliers have adopted the CI-BUS standard, and thousands of devices and vehicles now use this protocol for onboard digital control systems.

“We are working directly with leading device manufacturers to make ONDA Connectivity compatible with an ever-wider range of products,” says Michele Menegazzi, R&D Manager at AL-KO Vehicle Technology Electronics. “This offers manufacturers, dealers and end users greater flexibility, while maintaining simple and intuitive control”.

Simple installation
Integrating new third-party products into a recreational vehicle already equipped with ONDA Connectivity is quick and simple. Manufacturers and dealers can activate a firmware update via a USB stick. Minor wiring adjustments may also be required to quickly integrate a new compatible device.

Total control in the palm of your hand
The ONDA Connectivity mobile app is the intuitive, easy-to-use interface for managing every aspect of a recreational vehicle’s onboard equipment from anywhere. It allows communication with smartphones and tablets both locally via Bluetooth and remotely via the internet. The single, intuitive screen – identical to the one displayed on the vehicle’s control panel – clearly shows all the key information and allows for immediate adjustments with a simple tap.

The ONDA Connectivity app is available on the Apple Store and Google Play and includes an interactive DEMO mode that allows anyone to discover the potential of the ONDA system.
