Next by Fendt at CMT Stuttgart

After its market debut at the end of summer 2025, Next is once again making headlines: at CMT 2026 in Stuttgart (17-25 January) it is presenting a new caravan model. On display at the show is the Next 381, aimed specifically at families. Although it is a brand-new name, Next carries the historic experience of Fendt behind it: the German manufacturer decided to draw on its extensive expertise in caravan production to create a range of towable homes with a “young” character, an accessible price tag, and above all easy handling and light weight, suited to the new generation of hybrid and electric cars.
At its market launch a few months ago, Next offered just one model, the Next 380, a small-to-medium-sized caravan designed for two or three people. Now comes the Next 381, which offers space for four people while keeping compact dimensions and a lightweight structure to make towing easier. Here too, the price remains fairly low despite the overall high quality. In Germany, the base price stays under 20,000 euros. The Next 381 has been designed with particular attention to living flexibility: not only does the dinette convert into a double bed, but the bunk beds can also be folded away, either individually or completely. In next to no time, the space can be transformed to suit the needs of the moment. It is with pride that Hans Frindte, Sales Director of Fendt-Caravan, describes the Next 381 as "a truly fantastic lightweight family caravan". Its dimensions are similar to those of the Next 380, and the weight remains contained. The length including the drawbar is 588 cm, while the width is just 219 cm, and the overall mass in the base version is 1,000 kg. It is therefore easy to manoeuvre in out-of-town traffic, as well as around town and when manoeuvring within campsites. On the outside, it stands out for the distinctive shape of its body and its smooth sheet-metal panels. In its base configuration, the vehicle can be enhanced with an external storage compartment and a bike rack, as well as interior décor, extra cushions, and even attractive felt baskets. Some accessories are grouped together in optional packages. The layout features a front dinette seating four, which converts into a double bed, and two folding bunk beds with EvoPore mattresses in the rear sleeping area. In the central part of the interior is the kitchen, with a sink, a two-burner gas hob, and a compressor fridge fitted with a convenient double-opening door. The worktop is generously sized, designed to accommodate a coffee machine if required. A full bathroom is also included.
