Lippert Components, Inc. (LCI®), a leading supplier of components for recreational vehicles in the United States, Canada and Europe – participated at the Caravan Salon in Düsseldorf (Germany) with its complete range of slide out systems. The 55th edition of the world’s largest trade fair for motorhomes and caravans recorded 203,500, the best result in the event’s history.
LCI’s slide-out systems have already been successfully debuted by Adria (Slovenia), Tabbert (Germany) and Equi-Trek (UK). Reimo recently completed the prototype phase with LCI’s slide out system and presented their new Star van to the public at this year’s Caravan Salon. Based on the Mercedes Sprinter platform, the Star van uses the patent pending Van Slide, a mechanism based on LCI’s time-tested In-Wall® Slide-Out system. The Van Slide extends the rear of the vehicle to expand the bed length. Once the slide-out is extended, more space is given to the dinette and toilet areas, making them more spacious and comfortable. The double bed reaches a length of 190 cm, another record for a van.

LCI had already presented the Van Slide at the 2015 Caravan, Camping and Motorhome Show in Birmingham, UK, held in October but Reimo has developed a more personal solution that provides the use of the slide-out module for only a part of the van’s exterior. In the lower zone, Reimo has left room for the holding tanks.
“The LCI expansion project in the European market proceeds,” says Lorenzo Manni, LCI International Caravan Sales Manager. Continued Manni, “With Reimo we had the opportunity to develop a specific system for the van; a type of recreational vehicle that has become increasingly appreciated in Europe. Extending the internal space in a van opens new horizons for all those customers who like agile and compact vehicles, surpassing the limit of narrow spaces and reduced liveability. The Reimo prototype was presented to obtain feedback from the dealers, and the feedback was very positive. We will continue to work with Reimo in the coming months to prepare for the market in 2017.”

The compact In-Wall Slide-Out system used to build the LCI Van Slide is proven and reliable, as LCI produces almost 1.000 systems per day for the US market. The motors and mechanics are designed to provide maximum living space and extreme reliability. The system is delivered fully assembled, making managing inventory easy, and room boxes can be built off line, saving time and labour cost. Once the In-Wall Slide-Out is on a room box, simply slide the room into the caravan or motorhome and attach. A smart system continually monitors the motors for safe operation and the obstruction-sensing technology stops the slide-out movement when an obstruction is sensed.
