Lippert Components and Opp XL introduce European slide-out system

Elkhart, Ind. Lippert Components, Inc. (LCI®) announced on October 30 that it has entered into an agreement with Opp XL B.V. providing LCI the exclusive rights to manufacture, sell and distribute worldwide the Euro Slide slide-out system designed by Opp XL through a collaboration of U.S. and European engineers in the Netherlands. This agreement expands LCI’s portfolio of slide-out mechanisms with a system that addresses the unique requirements of the European caravan and motorhome market.
“The Euro Slide was created to exhibit a sleeker automotive appearance and provide a secure watertight seal,” said Larry Revelino, LCI Director of International Business Development. “The slide room is built with gently curved corners, flat exterior sidewalls and smart narrow molding. Four synchronized motors provide a smooth transition and uniform room seal.”
Revelino explained that Opp XL and LCI will jointly introduce the Euro Slide throughout Europe and other regions in the coming months, leveraging the strengths of both companies to support design and development of new slide-out applications.
LCI Chief Executive Officer Jason Lippert said that U.S. and Australia consumers have long enjoyed the versatility that slide-outs have added to RV interior space. “Slide-outs enhance the RV experience by expanding the unit to offer RVers more living space at the campsite,” said Jason Lippert. “We want to bring that same convenience to European consumers, so our international team has been working with manufacturers to determine the ideal combination of product features for European caravans and motorhomes. The Opp XL Euro Slide is just what we were looking for.”
Opp XL Chief Executive Officer Ed Gennissen expressed his enthusiasm for working with LCI on the Euro Slide. “After a successful world premiere at the 2015 Düsseldorf Caravan Salon, we are delighted to bring this new slide-out system to the market alongside Lippert Components.”
