Telecogroup, a firm renowned throughout Europe as a leading manufacturer of satellite antennas for Recreational Vehicles, officially presents the new self-tracking FlatSat Elegance SMART satellite antenna (patent pending), able to lock onto satellites broadcasting DVB-S or DVB-S2 signals.
By making full use of its ultra-modern R&D lab based in Lugo and a skilled team of dedicated professionals, Teleco has now integrated the new, incorporated SMART tracking system on the FlatSat Elegance.
The key feature of the SMART system is that it can switch, fully automatically, from one channel to another even if the latter is being transmitted by a different satellite. The antenna checks which satellite is broadcasting the desired pro- gramme and locks onto it automatically.
The FlatSat Elegance system is connected directly between the TELECO TH2 / TY2 television with incorporated receiver and the satellite antenna.
One of the most important advantages offered by the Flatsat Elegance SMART system is the OSD (On Screen Display) menu which lets users monitor, simply and practically, each stage of satellite tracking directly on the TV screen: choice of channel/satellite, search, tuning and display of the programme itself. This function is, at present, only available on the European market with this antenna and the Teleco Flatsat Elegance Smart.
The camper user just chooses the desired TV programme and the antenna immediately starts searching for the relative satellite! Every channel on the list is connected to a specific satellite so every time you change channel the antenna immediately starts searching for the associated satellite.
For example, pressing the remote control key corresponding to the ARTE HD channel transmitted by ASTRA-1 causes the antenna to lock onto that satellite automatically. By pressing, instead, the key corresponding to the RAI1 channel transmitted by HOTBIRD, the antenna will automatically lock onto the HOTBIRD satellite.
The FlatSat Elegance Smart can be controlled using the remote control supplied with the TH2 or TY2 TV or the simplified 8-key TS8, purchasable as an optional.
Software
To make antenna control as simple as possible, Teleco has developed a special software which provides a graphic display, on the TV screen, of all the tasks carried out by the antenna during tracking.
For example, during the search phase, an image of the antenna appears at the centre of the screen together with the name of the satellite. Once tracking has been completed the antenna stops and the "Sat OK" message appears; a few seconds later the selected channel is shown on the screen.
Compactness and appealing design
The total height of the antenna in the parking position ranges from 15 cm on the model with the 50 cm dish to 17 cm on the model with the 85 cm dish. Considerable attention was also paid to the aerodynamic shaping of the antenna when closed so that it cuts through the air more efficiently when the vehicle is on the move, thus providing camper owners with fuel savings.
Both the bulb housing the LNB and the antenna boom are protected by an ABS shell, both of which feature a design that is as appealing as it is practical.
Super-simple installation!
Outstanding technical developments implemented by Teleco offer another key advantage: the antenna and the TH2 or TY2 TV with the incorporated
HD receiver can be connected using just a coaxial lead and two very thin wires (a mini AV and IR wire). There is no need for any Scart sockets (known for their poor connection stability) or any costly, bulky leads.
This reduces installation costs and boosts system quality even further.
Key-factors:
● Just one remote control for both the antenna and the TV with satellite and digital terrestrial receiver
● Makes more channels available without making use more complicated!
● Super-fast installation: more functions and no additional leads
