Hymer at CMT 2026 in Stuttgart

Hymer unveils the new GT-S low-profile motorhome and the Grand Canyon S 700 CrossTrail 4x4 van

Published on 20/01/2026

Hymer has chosen CMT in Stuttgart (17-25 January 2026) to unveil some interesting new models. The main highlight is the new Hymer GT-S series: a high-end low-profile motorhome built on Mercedes-Benz mechanicals, aiming to combine reliability, cutting-edge technology, excellent driving comfort and, last but not least, a contemporary interior design in the best possible way. All this with a price starting from just over €100,000.

The mechanical base is that of the front-wheel-drive Mercedes-Benz Sprinter, with 9G-Tronic automatic transmission. Advanced driver assistance systems, including the Distronic Plus active distance assistance system, support the driver in every situation. A rear garage offers ample space for luggage of all kinds. In the living area, we find a flat floor with no level changes, and over two metres of interior height. The style of the furnishings combines warm wood tones with a matte olive shade. Added to this is the modern concrete-effect floor finish, minimalist and contemporary in style.

Two versions are on offer: the GT-S 600 and the GT-S 685, both available with an optional front drop-down bed. The Hymer GT-S 600 is 709 cm long and has a width we can consider standard, at 229 cm. It is therefore a medium-sized low-profile motorhome, with a gross vehicle weight of 3,500 kg and 4 approved travelling seats. The layout features a front L-shaped semi-dinette and two rear twin beds, with the central part of the interior dedicated to the L-shaped kitchen and the bathroom with a rotating wall. Worth noting is the option to separate the sleeping area.

Larger still is the Hymer GT-S 685, which reaches a length of 739 cm. Here too, we find two twin beds at the rear, but the living area changes, offering a face-to-face layout, and the bathroom is different too, larger and with a separate shower. For both models, we should mention the compressor fridge and the Truma Combi diesel heating system.

For those instead seeking an out-of-the-ordinary van, here is the new Grand Canyon S 700 CrossTrail Edition, characterised by an off-road style and excellent standard equipment. It is a camper van of generous dimensions, reaching a length of 697 cm and a homologated gross vehicle weight of 4,100 kg.

It is built on 4x4 mechanicals, namely the all-wheel-drive Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 419 CDI with a 2-litre 190 hp engine. The exterior is personalised with Stone Grey paintwork combined with distinctive CrossTrail graphics. Inside, leather upholstery (optional) stands out, featuring contrasting orange stitching and a sporty diamond-quilted pattern.

The Grand Canyon S 700 CrossTrail Edition is well suited to tackling challenging terrain thanks to the combination of all-wheel drive, raised suspension, all-terrain tyres with chunky treads on 18” rims with widened wheel arches, Raptor bumper coating and underbody protection for the engine and water tanks. But it is also a vehicle designed for living in complete independence, without relying on campsite facilities: the generous standard equipment includes a solar power system with two 110-watt solar panels and the new Hymer Smart Battery 2.0 system consisting of four 80 Ah lithium batteries, plus an inverter. And the 5G router, with a roof-mounted antenna, ensures very fast internet connectivity anywhere.
At the 2026 edition of CMT in Stuttgart, Hymer also displayed the Exsis-t 474 Xperience Edition. This is a special version of the already well-known Exsis-t 474 low-profile motorhome, which has a reduced gross vehicle weight and fairly compact dimensions: it is therefore a high-end motorhome with rich equipment, yet it can still be driven with a standard category B licence and remains manoeuvrable in every situation.

Based on a Fiat Ducato chassis combined with an Al-Ko frame, it is 659 cm long and 222 cm wide. On the outside, this special version is distinguished by its black driving cab and silver bodywork.

The driving comfort package, the integrated living package and the solar system are all offered as standard. The interior layout features a rear sleeping area with twin beds, the Vario bathroom with a rotating wall, and a front semi-dinette.
