We all love the fine season, and summer days in particular, though these can sometimes become tricky to cope with if we lack the right equipment for keeping food, drinks, or even medicines, baby food and so on, properly stored.
Our beloved motorhomes are usually fitted with adequate fridges designed for this very purpose. However, there are times when we’ve found ourselves thinking that a bit more cold storage capacity would come in handy, or that a stronger cooling capability would be useful — for instance, when heatwaves push standard on-board fridges to their limits.
Here, then, are a few solutions that could sort out these situations: portable fridges, available in various sizes and capacities, all sharing the same cooling technology based on a compressor, conceptually identical to domestic models.

The first model, from the
Mestic range, has a capacity of 35 litres, and — an interesting detail — can accommodate 2-litre bottles.
The second model, again from
Mestic, has a considerably larger capacity of 75 litres, and is organised in a “dual zone” layout, allowing part of it to be used as a fridge and the other as a freezer, as needed.
An alternative is represented by the
40-litre model by Brunner, which is compatible with 1.5-litre bottles and can reach temperatures as low as –20°.
To make positioning easier, a
fridge stand is also available as an accessory, allowing the fridge to be kept off the ground for protection against damp and dirt. It also makes it easier to open and close the lid at an optimal height.
Being portable makes these fridges extremely handy and versatile, encouraging their use in all sorts of settings, not just while camping or in the motorhome’s garage: on the terrace, at a party, on a picnic, while fishing, at the holiday home, and so on… keeping things cool wherever you go.
