Modern life, even when travelling, is becoming increasingly “connected”. For this reason, having a permanent Internet connection, like at home, for all your devices, is a very convenient solution for both motorhomes and caravans.
Teleco, who have already offered mobile solutions for several years, now presents the WLT24EX2 Wi-Fi Router, a 12-volt mobile router that uses LTE, 3G, and 4G cellular telephony to provide a stable and efficient Internet connection inside the vehicle and in its immediate vicinity. Like its predecessor, the WLT24EX2 also allows you to connect to Wi-Fi networks available in surrounding areas, such as campsites, parking areas, or public spaces. The new feature in this version is the double SIM card slot, which allows you to choose the operator with the best signal, depending on where you are. When travelling abroad, you can insert two SIM cards from different countries in order to select the best rate.
One single connection, several devices
With the Wi-Fi network generated by the router, all connected devices only need to be configured initially, and the WLT24EX2 then takes care of dialogue with any mobile network you may select or with the locally available Wi-Fi network. This prevents less experienced vehicle occupants from having to reconfigure their smartphones, tablets or PCs for each new location.
A complete ecosystem, always connected
Thanks to the WLT24EX2 router, you can even manage onboard systems with Wi-Fi connectivity remotely. The router is the ideal device for controlling the Telair Silent Plus and Clima e-Van air-conditioning solutions via app. This allows you to switch on the air conditioning shortly before returning to your vehicle and enjoy an environment that is always cool, while avoiding unnecessary waste of energy. The WLT24EX2 is also the ideal companion for Teleco Smart TVs, which connect to the router automatically, using the data connection for all streaming services. The router is ready for connection to Teleco combined antennas, which provide both a mobile signal and a DVB-S2 satellite or DVB-T2 terrestrial digital signal.
The connection and functions are managed through an interface that can be accessed with a simple browser, where the user can set login credentials, manage available networks and check the status of connected devices. The router is powered directly by the vehicle’s 12-volt electrical circuit, with no need for external power supplies or transformers. Accessories The Teleco routers are compatible with a wide range of accessories.
The WLT24EX2 is also compatible with the Teleco antenna family, including:
● WING LAN 11: a combined external antenna for simultaneous reception of LTE-3G-4G mobile signals (700-2,600 MHz) and DVB-T2 TV signals.
● TAO95: an external mini-antenna for LTE-3G-4G mobile signals (700-2,600 MHz).
● CombiSat WiFi and Flatsat WiFi: compact satellite antennas that are easy to install and have a builtin LTE-3G-4G-5G antenna in their cable gland. They fold down to reduce aerodynamic resistance while travelling and can be controlled directly by the Teleco Smart TV remote control.
● TAW85M2B/TAW85M2N: antenna for the reception of LTE-3G-4G mobile phone signals (700-2,600 MHz). It is easily installed on the roof and can be positioned in the rain channelling on camper vans.
