Stellantis reintroduces the 160 hp engine

At the Caravan Salon Düsseldorf 2026, Stellantis celebrates the opening of orders for the 2.2-litre, 118 kW (160 hp) diesel engine, intended exclusively for motorhome conversions based on the Citroën Jumper, Peugeot Boxer, Fiat Ducato and Opel Movano. In a move awaited by many, Stellantis is expanding its range of engines for the caravanning sector: the 2.2-litre third-generation Multijet turbodiesel is now available to order, updated and with a power output of 118 kW (160 hp), intended for conversions and builds based on the Citroën Jumper, Peugeot Boxer, Fiat Ducato and Opel Movano.
The engine complies with the stringent requirements of the Euro VI emissions standard. Customers can choose between a six-speed manual gearbox with 380 Nm of torque and an eight-speed automatic transmission delivering 400 Nm. With this new engine, offered exclusively for conversions into recreational vehicles, Stellantis Pro One bridges the gap between the existing 103 kW (140 hp) and 132 kW (180 hp) variants.
"Converters and camping enthusiasts can now count on the return of the much-appreciated 118 kW engine, already known to many thanks to the Fiat Ducato. The combination of brilliant performance and competitive prices makes it the ideal choice for recreational vehicles in the 3.5-tonne category," explains Joachim Burkhardt, Head of Marketing at Stellantis Pro One. At the Caravan Salon Düsseldorf 2026, Citroën, Peugeot and FIAT Professional are appearing with a joint stand in Hall 17 (stand B12). Until 6 September, the brands will be showcasing appealing solutions for modern and flexible travel, as well as base vehicles ideal for conversion into motorhomes, including the Citroën Jumper low-frame chassis, the Peugeot Boxer panel van and the Fiat Ducato chassis cab. Visitors will also be able to discover the latest additions to the Stellantis family: the Citroën Ami Rip Curl, the Fiat TRIS Dolcevita concept car and, for last-mile mobility, the new Peugeot eX01 bicycle.
