Lippert Component Industries (LCI), the American multi-national component supplier to caravan and leisure vehicle manufacturers around the world, has set up its first UK subsidiary,
LCI Industries UK (LCI UK) to strategically improve its service and support to the UK market.
Thanks to the distribution centre near Warrington in Cheshire (North West England), UK customers will now benefit from enhanced delivery times, more competitive shipping costs, and simpler invoicing in British pounds instead of Euros.
LCI UK intends to expand its product range for the UK by introducing some of its leading products from the USA, such as its lightweight levelling system for the European market. Not only, through the Italian subsidiary Project 2000, LCI UK also carries an extensive range of steps, TV brackets, bed frames and bed lifting systems for horseboxes and commercial vehicles.
Commenting on the new UK subsidiary, Lawrence Revelino, Director of International Business Development, LCI said:
“It is important for us to be close to our customers so that we can properly support our UK customers and participate in the market as it develops.”
LCI UK is supported by Customer Service Manager, Neil Mears, who has worked with slide outs and other LCI products in the leisure industry for over five years. Neil has been working closely with manufacturers of all sizes and is one of the most knowledgeable slide-out experts in Europe.
In particular, LCI UK is keen to continue the momentum of interest in slide-outs and to show how manufacturers how these can create opportunities for new interior floorplans and more living space from smaller, lighter vehicles.
“We know caravan and motorhome owners usually want extra living space, typically by adding an awning, and often prefer to ‘travel small but live big’, so a slide-out is a perfect solution. A smaller caravan with one or more slide outs can weigh less than a large caravan with similar floor space” said Lawrence Revelino.
To showcase the benefits of its watertight slide-outs, LCI UK brought its Smart Caravan concept to the recent Caravan, Camping and Motorhome Show in Birmingham, UK. It has no less than four slide-out sections to show how slide outs can be used to enhance the kitchen, dinette, bedroom or even a wardrobe areas in European caravans. These slide-outs create an extra 2.5m² of living space without needing a larger and heavier caravan or motorhome. LCI slide-out sections can also be designed so the caravan can still be used when the slide outs are closed.
