A new "Slide Out Your Van" campaign intends to develop the culture and concept of "space on demand" for campervans, caravans and motorhomes in Europe.
It aims to educate the public about the added value provided by the ‘Smart Room’ slide-out from Lippert Components,
especially for campervans, and develop more interest and demand from end users.
Lippert Components (LCI) is starting a communication project in Europe to improve the public’s knowledge of slide-out devices. In the United States, extendable, slide-out walls are a "must have", so much so that almost all motorhomes, caravans and fifth wheel trailers are equipped with two, three or even four slide-outs. Lippert Components is the world leader in the technology and production of slide-out walls for RVs. In Europe, however, this system is yet to take off. But Lippert Components has now reached a definitive development of its Smart Room 2.0 slide-out system and aims to increase the use of this solution, which has already been adopted by some important European motorhome and caravan manufacturers. “On compact vehicles, the slide out can lead to a reduction in the weight of the vehicle,” - says Lorenzo Manni, commercial director of LCI RV Europe. “In fact, by providing a Smart Room, the vehicle can be shorter yet have more than 2m2 of extra space, but with a lower weight per square meter," continued Lorenzo Manni. "Slide Out Your Van" is the headline for the campaign which aims to develop the culture and concept of "space on demand" in Europe. This will be achieved through an awareness-raising campaign which introduces the advantages of slide-out systems, and at the same time educates people about the system itself. It will focus on the additional possibilities this technology provides while dispelling many of the myths about the potential problems and limits of a slideout.
A dedicated website, www.slideoutyourvan.com, available in four languages (English, German, French and Italian), includes an "about us" section, a presentation of the technical details of the Smart Room 2.0, some case histories and a blog with insights, interviews, videos, and stories. The website is supported by a campaign on the main social media networks designed to open channels of dialogue with campers and dispel any doubts about this technology. “By talking to the public at European fairs,” adds Lorenzo Manni, “we realized that many users have concerns about the slide-out technology.
They are worried about water leaks, of additional weight, and the risk of not being able to retract the system if there is any malfunction of the mechanism or due to lack of energy, the electricity consumption and heat loss. With this communication project, we intend to dispel any doubts about the Smart Room, make sure the public are correctly informed, and also inform the B2B market about the extraordinary opportunities offered by our product which has been specifically engineered for the European market and for compact vehicles, including, of course, vans ”.
