The new Benimar Yrteo 862

Unveiled at Salone del Camper 2026, the all-new compact low-profile motorhome from the Spanish manufacturer

At the Salone del Camper in Parma, 2026 edition, we were able to preview the new Benimar Yrteo 862, one of the four models that make up the Spanish manufacturer's range of compact low-profile motorhomes. Compared to last season's models, the 2027 edition Yrteo models have changed in several respects, and this is not just an aesthetic restyling. They have been redesigned to accommodate a front drop-down bed: for this reason they have a greater height and feature a new fibreglass cowl above the cab. Like the other models in the range, the Yrteo 862 is built on a Ford Transit mechanical base, with a 375 cm wheelbase. The base engine is the tried-and-tested 2-litre turbodiesel delivering 130 hp, paired with a six-speed manual transmission. At extra cost, the 165 hp engine and also an automatic transmission are available.

This low-profile motorhome has a classic intermediate length of 699 cm and the height is also standard, at 289 cm, but it can nonetheless be considered a compact low-profile motorhome thanks to its reduced width of 214 cm. A width that makes manoeuvring on narrow roads and through difficult passages easier, as well as during manoeuvres and parking. The Yrteo 862 is a vehicle suitable for both two and four people: there are in fact four berths and four approved travel seats. The entrance door is of increased width, to offer comfortable access.

The rear garage is spacious and also accessible from the inside. It is fitted with a compartment to store the ladder of the drop-down bed when it is not in use, so that it is securely fixed and does not take up space in the living area.
Inside we note the front face-to-face dinette, with an armchair and a small sofa facing each other, to which are added the swivel cab seats, for a total of five seats.

The table is extendable, but it can also be electrically lowered, so as to modulate this area as desired and facilitate, when needed, movement to and from the cab. Above the living area the drop-down bed is fixed, and it is a double bed.

The other two berths are in the rear sleeping area: they are two singles, accessible via the steps located in the central corridor. Thanks to an extension mattress, the twin beds can be transformed into a double.

Under the beds are the wardrobes. In this area there is also the communicating hatch with the garage.
The kitchen is well equipped, placed in continuity with the sofa. It has recessed hobs and a worktop in front. A 150-litre compressor fridge is offered.

The bathroom offers a good washbasin and a column equipped with storage compartments, but by turning the wall a shower cubicle is created in moments, waterproof and separated from the rest of the furnishings.
