Passenger compartment air conditioning and heating with a single appliance, without electricity supply and without a generator: this is an MT4 Innovation patent.
Innovative, indeed revolutionary: the project developed by MT4 Innovation has what it takes to bring a great wave of innovation to the world of motorhomes.
This is a newly conceived system to air-condition the entire passenger compartment of recreational vehicles, but also of other mobile living spaces such as the truck cab, without the need of a power generator or electrical network connection. And it is not a "simple" air conditioner, but an appliance capable of air conditioning the passenger compartment at any time of the year, cooling in summer and heating in winter, with the addition of hot water production for the bathroom and the kitchen.
Basically, the functions of "stove", "boiler" and air conditioner are combined in a single device.
The Italian Ministry of Economic Development promoted the idea of MT4 Innovation, allowing the development of the project, which has been duly patented.
As is well known, the need to park freely, without relying on equipped facilities, is part of the culture of RV drivers, but the desire for climate comfort has always had to deal with energy autonomy, which in free parking is certainly not unlimited. When the MT4 Innovation patent will be concretized in an industrially produced appliance, and regularly put on the market, then motorhomes will adopt a good powered air conditioner, also working as a heating system and for the production of hot water, able to operate without connection to the 230V mains and without the aid of a generator. A solution that will undoubtedly be interesting also for air conditioning the truck cabins when parked, offering cool and warm without problems, with the engine off. Thanks to the "Bando Brevetti" (patent tender), dedicated to the enhancement of the granted patents, MT4 Innovation has developed the project with the cooperation of important partners such as the Energy Center and the Polytechnic of Turin.
The startup MT4 Innovation was born from MT Innovation, a research laboratory that has already developed innovative projects in the past that later appeared on the market, such as the thermoelectric generators of the Zeus range. The difference between the air conditioners on the market and the device designed by MT4 Innovation is the use of an absorption heat pump in NH3 (binary solution of water with a very low percentage of ammonia): the electrical component is replaced by heat, the which can be recovered both from the vehicle while driving, and generated when the vehicle is stationary thanks to a small burner (possible different forms of power supply: hydrocarbons, bioethanol, gas ... up to hydrogen). The project foresees that the device will be able to have a power of 3000 W in cooling mode and 6000 W in heating mode. It is important to note the significant weight savings: instead of having several appliances for heating, air conditioning and hot water production, you will have only one appliance of reduced size and limited weight.
The MT4 Innovation project refers to similar systems already successfully tested in the domestic and industrial sector. And precisely taking advantage of the recent developments in heating systems for homes, offices and industrial buildings, MT4 Innovation has developed the proposal for new heat and cold transmission systems, aiming to obtain greater efficiency than traditional methods (ducted air or convectors). Radiant systems are therefore proposed, which do not heat the air, but heat people and objects which in turn heat the air. With these systems, heat can also come from above, or from the floor and walls. These systems, exploiting a very low thermal inertia, use lower delivery liquid temperatures than traditional convection systems.
It is important to underline that, thanks to this method, the housing envelope (ceiling / walls / floor) becomes "active", to create maximum comfort, and with the same system it is possible to heat and cool the environment, as desired.
Un progetto mirabolante che fa quello che può e se lo fa con risultati scarsi, se vogliamo del fresco o d'estate vai a 2000/3000 metri e in inverno del caldino, ti sposti a sud verso l'Africa.

Potrebbe essere un'idea rivoluzionaria se non fosse che i signori di MT4 Innovation sono gli stessi della Mobiltech, quelli che hanno progettato, costruito e venduto il famigerato generatore Zeus e che poi hanno chiuso l'azienda lasciando i clienti senza assistenza (alcuni con legale garanzia in corso), senza pezzi di ricambio e con un prodotto (pagato 4.000 €) dal valore di mercato azzerato: oggi chi possiede uno Zeus se gli si guasta lo può andare a buttare...

trattasi di due tecnologie diverse che in comune hanno solo la soluzione binaria di acqua e ammoniaca.
3kW in raffreddamento non sono pochi...
Anche il trivalente usa l'ammoniaca e ora viene sempre più sostituito dal compressore perché col caldo non ce la fa.
Sono proprio curioso di vedere se un climatizzatore a serpentina radiante/ammoniaca ha la stessa potenza di uno a compressore/circolazione d'aria.
