On Sunday 24 May, during the meeting organised in Nocera Umbra by the Camping Club Civitanova Marche, the award ceremony for the prestigious “Comune Amico del Turismo Itinerante” (Municipality Friendly to Touring Tourism) recognition took place, one of the most important projects promoted by the Unione Club Amici, a Federation to which more than 125 associations spread across the whole national territory belong.
In the Sala dei Sindaci, alongside a large group of motorhome enthusiasts, those in attendance included the Mayor, Hon. Virginio Caparvi, the Deputy Mayor Alberto Scattolini and Councillor Elisa Cacciamani. Representing the Unione Club Amici were national president Stefano Censini, the national project manager and president of the Camping Club Civitanova Marche Gabriele Gattafoni, the president for the central-eastern area Maria Pepi, the president of the local Camper Club Le Sorgenti, Lorenzo Picchiarelli, as well as the executive board of the clubs organising the event. During the meeting, the Federation’s activities and initiatives in support of touring tourism were presented, and thanks were extended to the Municipal Administration for joining the project and organising the event, as well as to the Nocera community for the warm welcome received, highlighting the value of open-air tourism as a genuine opportunity for local promotion and sustainable development. The national president, Stefano Censini, then presented Mayor Caparvi with the certificate of membership to the national “Comune Amico del Turismo Itinerante” circuit.

Following this, after emphasising how this form of tourism is one of the few not tied to seasonality and is particularly mindful of the environmental needs of the host villages, he presented the Mayor with the official road sign of the circuit, symbolising the entry of the Municipality of Nocera Umbra into the national network of territories welcoming touring tourism. Mayor Caparvi then took the floor to thank those present, inviting them to return and stressing the importance of this type of tourism as an essential and highly valuable resource for towns and villages such as, precisely, Nocera.
