CamperOnTest Special: Carthago C2-tourer I 143 KB-LE
Prestige on a category B licence, a test in the striking setting of Valganna
Published on 02/01/2026
The new Carthago C2-tourer I 143 KB-LEin its lightweight version is the German manufacturer’s answer for those seeking a high-end motorhome that’s easy to drive, even with a standard category B car licence. It has an average length, but a slightly reduced width compared to the standard. To put it to the test, both on the road and when parked up, we headed to the striking area of Valganna, just a few kilometres from Varese: easily reached even by motorhome, it brings together a variety of landscapes and offers the chance for pleasant walks or bike rides. The Carthago C2-tourer I 143 KB-LE is available on both Fiat Ducato and Mercedes-Benz Sprinter mechanicals, and is offered in both lightweight (3,500 kg) and comfort (4,200-4,250 kg) versions. We tested the C2-tourer I 143 KB-LE lightweight version on Mercedes mechanicals: AL-KO chassis, double floor, top-level construction and a very comfortable interior—it’s hard to ask for more while staying within 3,500 kg and under 7 metres in length.
