AL-KO Vehicle Technology Electronics has published a new video,
on its own YouTube channel, entirely dedicated to the ONDA Smart System.
The video is designed to clearly and comprehensively illustrate the potential of this
cutting-edge solution for monitoring on-board power supply in recreational vehicles.
The ONDA Smart System represents a significant step forward in the digitalisation of the motorhome sector, making it possible, even for older vehicles, to achieve precise, real-time control of all power parameters. The system is based on Bluetooth communication between the on-board devices and an intuitive mobile app, which centralises data from battery chargers, solar panels and batteries.
Among the system's key components is the
Battery Duo System (BDS) 200, which manages the charging and discharging of two 12-volt leisure batteries. It is capable of intelligently managing two batteries of different ages, handling a maximum load of up to 100 amps each. Continuous monitoring allows it to flag any battery fault and automatically isolate it. The batteries can be either lithium or lead-acid. The BDS200 estimates the battery's remaining autonomy and displays the exact charge level.
AL-KO VTE's
PRM400 solar charge controller ensures that batteries are charged optimally using solar energy. The device automates the management of electricity coming from solar panels, guaranteeing effective charging for both lithium-ion and lead-acid batteries, so as to protect them and extend their lifespan. To achieve this, Maximum Power Point Tracker (MPPT) technology is used. MPPT is around 20% more efficient than Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) technology. In addition to the ONDA Smart System app, the PRM400 can also display information on an on-board display (PT742) or make it available via AL-KO VTE's CL bus system, integrating with the vehicle's on-board electrical network.
Finally, the
AM500 ammeter provides clear, real-time information on energy consumption, battery charge level, battery health status and estimated remaining autonomy. It can handle up to 500 amps. Like the other devices that form part of the ONDA Smart System, the AM500 ammeter can send data both to the system app on the mobile phone and to AL-KO VTE's CL bus system.
All ONDA Smart System devices are “lithium ready”. The
video available on
YouTube provides an effective visual overview of the system's features and the benefits for those travelling by motorhome, with the aim of guaranteeing energy independence and peace of mind in all conditions.
