Four new solar panels and a new solar charge controller provide more energy on board and greater autonomy, reducing the need for recharging and allowing worry-free use of several devices at the same time.
The new range of 12V solar panels from
AL-KO Vehicle Technology Electronics guarantees a superior level of conversion efficiency, ensuring greater power and better performance. The range comprises four models with maximum outputs ranging from 155W to 270W, from slim-profile panels to larger units suited to a wide range of vehicles. All models employ Back Contact technology, achieving a cell efficiency of 25.5%.
To achieve maximum efficiency, AL-KO Vehicle Technology Electronics has also introduced the new high-power PRM800 solar charge controller, designed to manage single higher-power panels or several panels connected together.
The new high-efficiency, high-power Back Contact solar panel range expands the offering from AL-KO Vehicle Technology Electronics, which already includes standard and flexible panels.
Together, the new solar panel range and the PRM800 solar charge controller allow users to extend the periods of use between battery recharges. A solution that meets the modern needs of an ever-growing number of on-board devices, guaranteeing all the comfort and convenience of home.
Designed to meet customer needs
Solar panels are now almost standard equipment on recreational vehicles. They are affordable, simple to use and manage, and represent an efficient, high-performance charging source. Evolving requirements among motorhome enthusiasts have prompted AL-KO Vehicle Technology Electronics to develop new solar solutions characterised by greater power and efficiency.
“
The trend among customers is to use an increasing number of appliances while travelling, such as microwaves, air conditioners and televisions, as well as personal devices like laptops,” explains Corrado Fiori, Head of Aftermarket Sales Italy at AL-KO Vehicle Technology Electronics.
“
In addition to this growing demand for energy, users also want greater autonomy, meaning the ability to independently generate more power through solar panels. In Italy in particular – but also across the rest of Europe – we have seen strong growth in the popularity of solar solutions. That is why we have used the most advanced technologies to develop a new range capable of meeting the needs of today’s camping lifestyle”.

The new MFBC solar panel range
“The high efficiency of our solar cells has allowed us to create a range of panels that offers specific advantages for customers in terms of dimensions, practicality and power,” adds Corrado Fiori.
The most compact model in the range is the MFBC155S, with a maximum output of 155W. Measuring 1,400 x 515 x 30 mm, it is slim enough to fit most vehicles, including camper vans, and can be installed alongside other roof-mounted accessories. Its compact dimensions also contribute to a low weight of just 7.7 kg.
With an output of 190W, the MFBC190 combines compactness with high performance, offering a different configuration with dimensions of 1,300 x 670 x 30 mm. Shorter and wider than the MFBC155S, it provides further options for optimising available roof space for energy production.
The MFBC230 raises the maximum output to 230W, with only a modest increase in dimensions, measuring 1,560 x 675 x 35 mm. For those seeking maximum power, the greatest autonomy and total freedom of use, the MFBC270 achieves an impressive 270W output thanks to a larger solar surface, measuring 1,900 x 675 x 35 mm.
The entire range is available exclusively in the elegant Super Black finish, giving it a modern, refined look.
Supplied in handy kits
AL-KO Vehicle Technology Electronics offers the new range both as individual kits for end customers and online sales, and in multi-packs for fitters. Each kit includes all the accessories needed for installation, including a 5 mm² cable complete with MC4 connectors for panel connection, a roof cable gland with integrated cable clamp, and black anodised aluminium mounting brackets, which allow the panel to be easily removed for maintenance or cleaning. A 1.5-metre extension cable is also available as an optional extra for connecting solar panels in series.
Designed for reliability and long-lasting performance
The entire range is manufactured using Back Contact technology, which ensures a superior level of conversion efficiency and offers further technical advantages, such as a lower temperature coefficient, resulting in better performance even under demanding operating conditions. The high-quality anti-reflective coating on the cells and the special glass used help create a solar panel with particularly high performance.
Durability and reliability are guaranteed by the use of high-transmittance tempered glass, resistant to impacts and weathering. On the back of the panel, a Black Tedlar film protects against the ingress of air and moisture, preventing oxidation of the electrical components and ensuring a long operational life for the system.

New PRM800 solar charge controller
As well as enabling the use of the high-power 270W MFBC270 panel, the PRM800 solar charge controller also makes it possible to connect several solar panels together, further increasing energy production potential.
The device ensures optimal battery charging via solar power and automatically manages the energy coming from the solar panels. Thanks to MPPT (Maximum Power Point Tracker) technology, both lithium-ion and lead-acid batteries are charged efficiently and safely, helping to extend their operational life. This technology also maximises the charging efficiency of the solar panels.
In addition to 12V operation, the PRM800 solar charge controller is also compatible with 24V batteries, opening up new application possibilities in other transport sectors.
The device features Bluetooth connectivity, allowing the battery charge status to be monitored via a dedicated app.
