Perfect for visiting the ancient medieval village, except it's literally overrun by visitors and locals. Campers have little to no parking; no one checks them, and from August 29 to September 2, as if that weren't enough, a historical reenactment draws crowds and camper parking is prohibited. Leaving the parking lot, however, follow Via Campagnani all the way to the intersection with the legendary "Flaminia." Instead of joining the SS3 state road, continue immediately left onto Via Campagnani, which, closed to traffic, has been converted into a free parking lot. I stayed overnight, with no problems. If you plan to park, be careful: the road is narrow and cars park nearby and on both sides, so leaving the parking lot could be difficult. Cars and buses everywhere, maneuvering difficulties, almost non-existent signs. The growth of trees limits the space in length and the limited maneuvering space makes it difficult to enter the stalls which are marked for campers but have the same width as those for cars. On a slope, not exactly slight, except perhaps the first one. It definitely could have been done better. Arrived, we find the camper parking space occupied by the cars, after a long wait and intervention of the traffic police we were able to arrange our 3 campers to finally dedicate ourselves to visit the site. Parking is free and convenient for visiting the Borgo, near the elevator but, given our experience, parking is not guaranteed, I highly recommend arriving the evening before the visit, even if there are no services except for unloading and load of water.
