The pitches were fairly spacious and flat, with electricity hookups, free cold showers and a single hot one with a \u20ac1 token. Restrooms definitely in need of renovation, but they were functional. I agree with the many, perhaps too many, restrictions already noted. The pitches are all sunny, and the area is generally decent. It's located between the railway line, which operates even at night, and the lido, which hosts discos until 2 a.m., so sleeping is difficult. There's a seafood restaurant (also takeout) literally across the road. We contacted the Il Picchio rest area to let them know we were approaching the end of their access time. Two managers came personally, waited with us to resolve the issue, accompanied us to the rest area, and arranged for the vehicle to be temporarily stored overnight. The next morning, they directed us to the Sena Camper camper service center, notifying them of our arrival. We would like to publicly thank them for their courtesy and helpfulness. The service area is beautiful, in an excellent location, all on grass.
